Blair Wins 2009 Eagle Award from Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of the Carolinas
Blair is pleased to announce that it has received the 2009 Eagle Award as part of the ABC of the Carolinas Excellence in Construction Awards competition. The firm was awarded this prestigious honor for its Brier Creek Medical Office Building in the Specialty Contractor Division, showcasing its capabilities in Tilt-Up concrete construction and arched exterior panels. Blair would like to recognize our client, Choate Construction, and all the vendors who played a key role in this successful project.
The Brier Creek MOB project, located just north of the Raleigh Durham Airport in North Carolina, is also known as the Duke Medical Plaza at Brier Creek. The two-story building is home to various Duke medical practices, including a Primary Care office, Urgent Care, Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy, and the Duke Women’s Health Associates. In just two weeks, the firm set and assembled 57 panels using a crane and a special type of anchoring system to hold the arch style exterior entrance panels in place. Blair’s portion of the project was finished on schedule and with zero lost time incidents, despite challenging site conditions and a rigorous schedule.
